USS Roanoke Sub: Sliced turkey rolled around sliced provolone, griddled & then topped with crispy procuitto, arugula, peppadew peppers, & a mixed fruit mostarda on a toasted french baguette.

This place is bomb. Giant subs with creative ingredients (are you not drooling over that description?^), not to mention the absolute BEST BRUNCH IN RICHMOND (not pictured but please trust me). It opens at 9am, which is a good time to go before it gets super crowded. The place doesn’t take reservations and is run on a first-come-first-serve basis, so block out a solid chunk of time if you’re planning on going. Absolutely worth the wait.

If you’re going for breakfast/brunch, I would highly recommend the Gambas Bravas (crispy griddle potatoes topped with three eggs scrambled with shrimp, piquillos & smoked paprika, then smothered in a choriqueso) or the Breakfast Batteau (half a toasted french baguette topped with sweet potato butter, crispy pan fried roasted duck leg meat, pepper jelly glaze, bacon, two eggs, grilled red onions, arugula, ricotta salata). For the subs (listed under “The War of Northern Ingestion” on the site), I love the USS Roanoke (pictured), as well as the USS Brooklyn (jerk barbecued chicken, loaded into a toasted french baguette with shredded cabbage, roasted banana ketchup & peach chutney). You really can’t go wrong at this place.
